SYDNEY SYNCHRO EVENT OF THE YEAR Ona Carbonell is coming to Sydney

Sydney has a very special synchro guest in town for vacation, Ona Carbonell. Ona is presently the most ionic synchronised swimmer in the world. Ona won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics and won many International events. She has raised the profile synchronised swimming into mainstream sports in Spain, her home country. Ona is also a model and fashion designer. Check out the amazing links of Ona below

Synchro NSW is so excited Ona has agreed to say hello and do a show while she is in Sydney.

    • 7:00-7:30pm – Meet and Greet with Ona
    • 7:30-7:45pm – Question and Answer with Ona
    • 7:45-8:00pm – Olympic Synchro Trivia while the performers warm up
    • 8:05pm – Junior Tech Duet
    • 8:10pm – Junior solo
    • 8:15pm – Ona’s Solo from Worlds 2018
    • 8:20pm – 8:45pm (approximately) – Ona will demonstrate technical skills at the competitive level

New Zealand is hosting an development Clinic for intermediate Coaches

New Zealand is hosting a FINA Synchro Development Clinic for Intermediate Coaches.

The dates are December 6 – 10, 2017, and the Clinic will be held at  AUT Millennium Aquatic and Conference Centre,  17 Antares Place, Mairangi Bay, Auckland. It will comprise theory and practical sessions, aimed at Junior and Age Group swimmers. Rule changes from the 2017 FINA Synchro Technical Congress will be addressed, as well as other relevant topics.

The presenter is Julie Jasontek,  Junior Team Head Coach for the Cincinnatti Synchrogaters, Ohio, USA. Julie’s Teams have had considerable competition success during her coaching tenure.

Attendance – please contact the synchronsw@gmail.com to confirm attendance, with a deadline for confirmation of November 1, 2017,  to ensure we have an adequate supply of the resource materials.

There is no charge to attend the Clinic, but accommodation and transport arrangements are the responsibility of the attendees.

We have three suggestions,  the costs are similar, and depend on the room configuration – estimate $ 80 – $ 95 NZ  per person per night, not including meals.    The distances to  the Clinic venue are similar – 12 – 15 minutes driving.

Proposed FINA Judging Course in Australia

We have been advised that SSAI is in the process of seeking approval for a FINA judging school to help prepare judges for the new changes occurring in 2018.  This is a rare and exciting opportunity to develop judging skills in a formal setting with an accredited teacher.
If approved, attendance and completion of the exam will be required for all judges who wish to be listed in the FINA G category and judge internationally.  
The suggested dates are:
11-14 or 25-28 of January
15-18 of February
